WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION!!!

Season 104 brought you a great set of questions made by Kathryn Hutchinson – thank you, Kathy. Just like last season, this season turned out to be rather difficult. The hard-o-meter was set to 48, but the actual difficulty landed at 41. The most difficult questions were the Irish novel on Day 5 (difficulty 30), the African Country on Day 9 (difficulty 28) and the Connections question on Day 13 (difficulty 11).  Despite the difficulty of the season, three quizzers, @Dorian, @Duncan and John Robinson still managed to submit 13 correct answers. For that reason, a tie-break was needed. This time the topic was Characters in Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. Dorian managed to name 9 characters but John just managed to squsee ahead with 10 correct answers. Therefore, it was all down to Duncan. But Duncan was stuck in an airport waiting for a plane home. And even if he did manage to get home in time to submit answers, would he get more than ten points?

As it turned out, Duncan did manage to answer in time, but he hadn’t read the book in 25 years, so he was only able to come up with 6 names. That means that with a very narrow margin, John Robinson is our new champion. This is John’s third championship. Please give him a big round of applause.
